

GUNTUR: District collector B Ramanjaneyulu has asked authorities concerned to complete the process of rehabilitation of those who are being affected by the Pulichintala irigation project and to provide all facilities to them.
The collector held a review meeting with officials concerned in his chamber here today on the rehabilitation of the affected people. He said 6,500 people had been identified as `affected people' under the pulichintala project and 3,200 people from six villages had been rehabilitated at various places so far.
The government has set up rehabilitation centres at Ketavaram village for 332 persons, at Pulichintala for 318, at Kamepalli for 260, at Bodhanam for 1,104, at Kolluru for 378 and at Gollapet for 528 persons.
Besides, district administration has decided to set up rehabilitation centres at Rajapalem, Machayapalem, Pedapalem, Neeleswarapuram, Kondamodu and Choutapapayapalem villages and asked the officials to provide all basic facilities like roads, drinking water, power and schools in those villages.
“Every identified family under the Pulichintala project got benefited and rehabilitation is being provided all affected people,'' he said and directed the authorities to start construction of houses on June 2 to rehabilitate people under the rehabilitation package.
Joint collector A Sharat, Pulichintala project special collector Intiaz, PA to special collector Nageswara Rao, special deputy collector Satya Bhaskar, panchayat raj executive engineer Govardhana Reddy and senior officials of various departments attended the review meeting.
