HYDERABAD: Singidi Telangana Rachaiatala Sangham convener, Dr Sunkireddy Narayana Reddy has appealed to writers and artists of Telangana not to attend events organised by Seemandhra writers and artists.

He also demanded that Seemandhra writers should declare their stand on the Telangana issue.

Speaking at the Telangana Kavula Garjana organised by the Telangana Rachaiatala Vedika and Singidi Telangana Rachaiatala Sangham here today, he warned Seemandhra writers that if they did not support the Telangana agitation, their programmes in the Telangana region would be obstructed. He alleged that Seemandhra writers were supporting the united Andhra agitations instead of the people's agitation in Telangana.

Telangana Rachaiatala Vedika convener Juluri Gowrishankar demanded that all elected leaders from Telanagana should come forward to fight for a separate Telangana state. He demanded that Jnanpith Award recipient C Narayana Reddy and Sahitya Academy winner Prof N Gopi should return their awards and join the Telangana agitation.

He said they would boycott the World Telugu Writers Conference on April 4 at Tirupati to protect

Telangana dialects and literature.

He demanded the Central government should introduce the Telangana Bill in the current Parliament session without considering the Srikrishna Committee report.

He admitted they had failed to project their literature on par with Seemandhra literature. He said their writers had been creating awareness on injustice towards Telangana since the last 40 years.

Film director B Narasinga Rao, Andhra Jyothi editor K Srinivas and Vaartha editor Tankashala Ashok were present.
