HYDERABAD: The audio release function of 'Jai Bolo Telangana',  a Telugu film made on the history of Telangana movement by Shankar, held here today, brought all TRS and TPF leaders together.

Telangana Praja Front (TPF)  president Gadar released the audio CD and handed over the first one to TRS honcho K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Addressing the meeting, the TRS chief said actor Jagapati Babu played the lead role in the film and that it proved that people in coastal Andhra are not against formation of Telangana state. In spite of several pressures, Jagapati Babu acted in the film . 'He is a live example for the mood in people of coastal Andhra," Chandrasekhar Rao felt. Only few people in coastal Andhra, Chandrasekhar Rao felt, were opposing Telangana agitation. He exuded confidence that they would succeed in their endeavour certainly. He hoped the new film picturised on Telangana stir would be a grand success and that it would celebrate silver and diamond jubilee functions.

TPF president Gadar urged the TRS chief to unite all political parties in the region and at the same time, ensure that cultural leaders also joined the agitations to achieve statehood to Telangana. He demanded the Centre to resolve Telangana issue by introducing  T-Bill in the next Parliament session.

Prof K Jayashankar, R Vidyasagar Rao, B Dattatreya and other Telangana leaders addressed the meeting.

Actor Jagapati Babu said he has no regional feelings and that it was for the same reason that he acted in the film. Film producer and actor R Narayana Murthy compared TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao with Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi. Both Rao and Karunanidhi are great orators, writers and are striving for the welfare of people, he said. Film director Shankar thanked leaders of Telangana movement and announced that he would direct some more films in support of Telangana stir.

KCR TURNS LYRICIST

Champion of Telangana cause and TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao turned lyricist. Rao penned a song for 'Jai Bolo Telangana'. The song was more a satire on political parties which have been trying to cheat people of Telangana. TN chief minister Karunanidhi was a writer and lyricist before entering into politics. But, Rao was a politician first and then a lyricist. Rao's interest in literature prompted him to pen several songs in the past too, in support of Telangana. However, this is the first song he penned for a Telugu movie.

"Gaaradi chestunru.. gadabida chestunru.. tondiki digutunru ... mondiki potunru.. betala mantrikulu .. benami nayakulu...." goes the song penned by Rao, which thoroughly exposed leaders of various other parties who are playing with sentiment of people in Telangana.

When Rao was the transport minister in TDP cabinet, he readied a script and songs for a film on Batukamma.
