HYDERABAD: The dramatic marriage of star-turned-politician Chiranjeevi’s daughter, Srija, is reportedly on the rocks.
Srija lodged a complaint against her husband, Sirish Bharadwaj, with the Central Crime Station (CCS)’s women’s police station on Sunday alleging that he had been harassing her to bring “additional dowry. ” She claimed that Sirish had begun harassing her ever since she started getting close to her family again, sources said. In her complaint, she reportedly said Sirish had also been nagging her for “neglecting” him after she mended fences with her parents.
Sirish, who is presently into event management, was reportedly summoned and questioned by the police.
However, no senior police official, including police commissioner AK Khan, was available for comment.
CCS ACP (WPS) M Sudhakar, nonetheless, confirmed the receipt of Srija’s complaint.
Unconfirmed sources said the police had booked a case against Sirish.
The youngest daughter of megastar Chiranjeevi, Srija, created a flutter by eloping with Sirish Bhradwaj on Oct 17, 2007, against her parents’ wishes and got married at the Arya Samaj.
The couple had even sought police protection fearing for their lives from her powerful father.
In her complaint, Srija is believed to have stated that her father had accepted her marriage with Sirish following the birth of a baby girl.
Ironic as it may seem, on Valentine’s Day this year, the couple had given interviews to several channels.
