The dismissal of DL Ravindra Reddy from the state cabinet seems to have provided a new opportunity to the nit-pickers of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the state Congress to grumble about his style of working to the AICC high command.

Following the announcement of Ravindra Reddy that he would stay put in the Congress, his pals and Kiran’s nit-pickers in the ruling party seem to have intensified their efforts to persuade their party high command to hold talks with the sulking Mydukur MLA to assuage his feelings that he had been ill-treated in the party.

At the same time, the adversaries of the chief minister are said to be utilising the opportunity to the fullest possible extent to complain against Kiran Reddy’s style of functioning to their Delhi bosses.

A day after Union minister K Chiranjeevi had a lengthy meeting with his party boss Sonia Gandhi seemingly on the same issue, another detractor of Kiran, who is none other than deputy chief minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha, presented his arguments on the alleged high-handedness of the chief minister before AICC supremo Sonia Gandhi on Thursday.

The second-in-command in the state government spent the entire Thursday in Delhi as busy as a bee by holding a series of meetings with the movers and shakers of the AICC and also with the detractors of the chief minister such as PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana and Union minister S Jaipal Reddy who were there on the same day.

At first, the deputy chief minister had a half-an-hour confabulation with Sonia Gandhi on Thursday morning. Later, he had a long conversation with the AICC point man to the state, Ghulam Nabi Azad, there. After that, he also called on  Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at the latter’s office. In the intervening periods, Rajanarasimha had lengthy discussions with Botcha and Jaipal separately.

Rajanarasimha is understood to have submitted a report to Sonia on the way Kiran Reddy is trying to ignore the seniors in the party. Interestingly, this is Rajanaraismha’s second meeting with his party supremo in the past three weeks.

According to sources, during his latest meeting with his party boss, Rajanarasimha disapproved of the dismissal of Ravindra Reddy from the cabinet. He felt that such a senior leader like Ravindra Reddy should have been given an opportunity to resign from the cabinet.
