The state Assembly on Monday paid tributes to senior TDP leader and Avanigadda MLA Ambati Bramanaiah, who died recently.

Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, while moving the condolence motion, said the late Bramanaiah was a person of high integrity and true people’s leader. “Bramanaiah used to raise farmers’ and workers’ issues in the Assembly and fight for the common man,” he said. The state will always remember his contribution, especially to the cause of farmers, he said.

Leader of the opposition and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, expressing grief over the death of his party’s senior member, said Bramanaiah was a true friend of farmers and workers and commanded great respect in the society. “He started public life as a ward member and went on to become member of Parliament. During his long career of more than 50 year, he took up many public issues and worked for the welfare of the people. “He was a man of principles and maintained high integrity in public life,” he said.

YSRC floor leader YS Vijayalakshmi said Brahmanaiah will be remembered for taking up the cause of farmers. “He was an honest and sincere leader who till his last worked for the welfare of the people,” she said.

CPM floor leader J Ranga Reddy urged the government to open a library in the name of Bramanaiah at Avanigada.
