Sabitha stays off Assembly

Former home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, who faces the prospect of arrest in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assets case, was conspicuous by her absence in the Assembly on the first day of the second half of the budget session on Monday.

Former home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, who faces the prospect of arrest in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assets case, was conspicuous by her absence in the Assembly on the first day of the second half of the budget session on Monday.

However, former minister for roads and buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, who is also facing a similar fate, turned up.

When Dharmana entered the Assembly, some of the young MLAs of the Congress from North Andhra region welcomed him with a warm hug.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy assigned the responsibility of giving replies to questions pertaining to the home department to Minister for Major Industries J Geeta Reddy.

Similarly, the issues relating to Roads and Buildings’ department will be handled by Pithani Satyanarayana, Minister for Social Welfare.
