The 12-day-long Saraswati Pushkarams concluded at Kaleshwaram on Monday, with thousands of pilgrims turning up for a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam — a confluence of Godavari, Pranahita and Saraswati.
Several lakhs of pilgrims participated in the Pushkarams. Though the first three days saw a poor turnout, the rush gathered momentum from the fourth day. Kalaswaram has a number of temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses. The most important of them are Kaleshwara and Mukteshwara Swamy temples.
On Monday, temple priests took out a procession carrying ‘Kalasams’ (holy pitchers) from the temple to Saraswati river and performed special poojas and offered silk clothes to Goddess.
