TDP legislators N Rajakumari and GS Anjaneyulu sat in protest at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) on Monday morning, against the callous attitude of the staff in attending to emergencies.
The two leaders pointed to the ‘negligence’ of the staff in attending to a patient from Vinukonda in Guntur district suffering from a blood clot in brain.
Learning about the plight of the patient, the two legislators went to the hospital and then sat in a dharna demanding measures to sensitise staff to the travails of patients coming for treatment at the hospital.
They called off their protest after the Nims director assured them such incidents would not recur.
