TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has said his party is always ready to work with non-UPA and non-NDA parties.
“I have been in touch with leaders of like-minded regional parties across the country to form a third alternative to the UPA and the NDA in the run-up to the 2014 polls. I can’t say when exactly the front is going to be formed. It could be set up before the general elections or after. But I am sure, the third alternative will be set up to form government at the Centre after the 2014 polls,” said Naidu.
He further asserted that regional parties were gaining in strength day after day. The TDP chief, who was convener of the United Front (UF) which formed governments at the Centre in 1996 and 1998, exuded confidence that regional parties would hold sway in general elections as “national parties such as Congress and the BJP are weakening with each passing day.”
10-day break for Naidu
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is taking a 10-day-long break from his hectic political activity. Naidu’s family is going to America to be present at the convocation of the Stanford University on June 15 where his daughter-in-law Brahmani will receive her MBA degree.
