Hailing the ‘Amma Hastham’ scheme introduced by the state government, Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan promised to strive for providing a bath soap along with the kit being provided to beneficiaries under the scheme.
As of now, the government is supplying a kit containing nine essential commodities including pulses, tamarind, chilli powder, turmeric powder, oil, wheat, wheat flour, sugar and salt at subsidised prices. However, the MP promised to increase the number of items to ten by adding a bath soap to the Amma Hastham scheme kit soon.
Stating that no government in the nation except Andhra Pradesh is implementing such a scheme, he lauded the government for taking up a programme that benefits the poor.
As a part of his ‘Nagara Bata’ programme, the MP visited Kummarithopu, Palleveedhi, New Indira Nagar, STV Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Colony and Korlagunta here on Sunday and interacted with the locals. He reiterated that houses will be constructed for all eligible poor families in Tirupati town under the Jawaharlal Nehru Swagruha Scheme.
