More trouble seems to be brewing for beleaguered BCCI chief N Srinivasan, who is under pressure to quit his post following the arrest of his son-in-law for alleged involvement in IPL betting, as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to quiz him again in connection with the alleged disproportionate assets case of jailed Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

CBI is probing the alleged investments made by Srinivasan’s company India Cements in the companies promoted by the Kadapa MP when the latter’s father, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was the chief minister. India Cements has been listed as Accused No.22 in the FIR registered in Jagan’s case.

Unconfirmed reports suggested that the CBI had summoned the India Cements managing director for questioning on Friday. Express could not verify it independently as sources neither confirmed nor denied the same.

In the FIR registered by the CBI, it is alleged that the India Cements allegedly pumped money into Bharati Cements and Jagati Publications owned by Jagan and in return got benefits from the government in the form of water allocation for its units in Andhra Pradesh. The CBI believes that the then government issued two orders allocating additional water from the Krishna and Kagna rivers to two plants of India Cements.

The orders reportedly helped the company to double its production in the state.

Already, Srinivasan was quizzed twice by the CBI in June last year reportedly on the water and limestone allocations made by the YSR government.
