On the fourth day of the annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams, Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken in a grand procession on the Kalpavriksha vahanam in the morning and in Sarva Bhupala Vahanam in the night. ‘’As you wish, so you have,’’ is the belief of a devout, if he has darshan of the Kalpavriksha.
The deity was also bedecked with very rare and precious jewels befitting the occasion. It is widely believed that worshipping the Lord on this particular day enables devotees fulfil their wishes.
The Lord Malayappa adorned with dazzling jewels was taken out in a procession on the vahanam, which was also tastefully decorated. The Mada street galleries were teeming with scores of devotees since 8 a.m.
Along with his two consorts, the Lord came out from the Garbhalaya at about 5 a.m and was adorned in ‘Thiruvabharanalu’ at Ranganayakula mandapam and later to the Vahana mandapam. After the procession, the Lord was again brought to the Ranganayakula mandapam and ‘sadalimpu’ (removing of the antic jewels and Tiruvabharanaalu) was performed. Later in the evening the deities were once again taken around the Mada streets in a colourful procession, this time on the tastefully decorated ‘Sarva Bhoopala vahanam’ signifying that he is the Lord of Lords.
