Meagre allocation for projects in Telangana

Injustice was meted out to the Telangana region in the Railway Budget 2013-14 presented by railway minister  Pawan Kumar Bansal on Tuesday.

Telangana votaries decried the meager allocations for projects in the region which was again disregarded in the budget.

Only two new trains were sanctioned for the benefit of the people of the region.

The run of four trains has been extended and laying of two new rail lines will be taken up in the next fiscal year. Survey on three new routes in the region has been announced. 

The funds allocated for the ongoing railway projects are not on the expected lines: Peddapalli-Manuguru project (Rs 50 crore), Medak-Akanapet (Rs 1.1 crore) Gadwal-Raichur (Rs 7 crore), Bhadrachalam-Kovur (Rs 1 crore), Macherla-Nalgonda (Rs 2 crore), Ramagundam-Manuguru (Rs 10 lakh), Manoharabad-Kotthapalli (Rs 20 crore), Kondpall--Kothagudem (Rs 10 lakh), Vishnupuram-Jahanpahad (Rs 1 crore), Jaggayyapet-Melacheruvu (Rs 15 crore).

New trains: Kurnool-Secunderabad daily, Kacheguda-Mangalore weekly. 

Extension: The Falaknuma-Bhongir MEMU has been extended up to Jangaon, Bodhan-Kamareddy up to Mirzapur, Secunderabad-Manuguru tri-weekly made a daily, the Secunderabad-Bellampally inter-city express extended to Kagaznagar.

New lines: Kothagudem-Kondapalli, Manuguru-Ramagundem.

Survey: Dornakal to Miryalaguda, Wasim to Adilabad and Mancherial to Adilabad new lines.
