VISAKHAPATNAM: An open army recruitment rally will be conducted by the Army Recruiting Office of Visakhapatnam at the Indira Priyadarshini Stadium in the city from August 17 to 26. Around 10,000 candidates from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari and Krishna districts along with Yanam are expected to participate.
The rally is being conducted to recruit soldiers for the posts of soldier technical, general duty, clerk, store-keeper technical and soldier tradesman. The running slip will be issued to the candidates from the venue. The minimum age is 17-and-a-half years and maximum is 23 years. Candidates below 18 years age should bring a consent letter from their parents and married candidates below 21 years will not be allowed to enrol into the army. Candidates have to undergo physical fitness test, physical measurement test, and medical examination.
The candidates should report at the Indira Priyadarshini Stadium at 5 am and the entry gate will be closed at 8 am. They should produce all certificates in original and photostat copies including education, nativity, community/caste, date of birth, character certification from the village sarpanch/administrative officer in English and NCC/Sports.
