The TTD is all set to strengthen the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP), its religious / spiritual propagation arm, by incorporating the latter’s expenditure on ‘Dharma Pracharam’ in its annual budget.
Till eight years back, the HDPP used to have a budget of only `20 lakh to `40 lakh per annum. But over the years, the HDPP’s budget has been hiked to `100 crore a year because of the new programmes as part of the dharma pracharam taken up by the TTD.
According to highly-placed sources, the TTD is contemplating to include the HDPP’s expenses on ‘Dharma Pracharam’ in its annual budget by creating a new account in the core area of payment accounts.
For this, the TTD needs annual reports from the HDPP regarding its work pattern, aims and objectives, plan of action with estimations, etc. For all these, the TTD has to create a separate wing with a suitable person to head it.
In view of this, JEO P Bhaskar has instructed the HDPP to prepare an annual work plan in the name of ‘Dharmika Varshika Pranalika’. “This annual plan will enable us to incorporate the estimates into the TTD budget and strengthen the HDPP,’’ a TTD source said.
The HDPP will enlist the help of its district and mandal level co-ordinators for the preparation of the Dharmika Varshika Pranalika.
“We will include the expenditure in the annual budget by way of a new account in TTD from 2014-2015 financial year,’’ Bhaskar told Express.
‘’The main aim is comprehensive strengthening of the HDPP which will help the TTD to propagate the HIndu Dharma and glory of Lord Venkateswara’’, he said and added “this will also help us to prepare proper expenditure and to come out with a cultural programme calendar and its expenditure in a transparent way’’.
