Unlike many areas which suffer due to shortage of water, Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituency suffers due to abundance of water especially due to heavy rainfall which destroys crops every year. As there is no facility for diverting rain water, it is turning out to be a curse for farmers whose population form a major chunk of the voters in the constituency.

Former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had sanctioned `14 crore towards Delta modernisation works in 2009, but it did not materialise following his sudden death. Ever since, the problem has been pending and several hectares of agricultural lands get submerged every year due to heavy rains.

Farmers are also worried about the future of the irrigation. The reason for their worries are the announcements being made in the newly formed Telangana State about the projects on Krishna river, which the farmers feel will seriously deplete their resources. They are looking for the leaders who would give an assurance for the solution to it.

Another major issue is the proposed fishing harbour for the fishermen community which dominates the vote bank in the Lok Sabha constituency. Fishermen have no option but to export their produce through ports in the neighbouring districts. The construction of a bridge on Vasishta Godavari river connecting the Godavari districts also has been an issue which strikes a chord with the voters. Several politicians have made promises to construct this 2-km long bridge but it has been kept pending for reasons better known to the politicians.

Assembly segments in the constituency are: Achanta, Palacole, Narsapuram, Bhimvaram, Undi, Tanuku, Tadepalligudem.
