Will Reinvestigate Paritala Murder Case, Says Home Minister

ANANTAPUR: AP Home minister N Chinarajappa told newsmen here on Monday that former minister Paritala Ravindra’s murder case would be re-investigated so that the real culprits behind the murder could be nabbed.

The minister, who was on an official visit in the  Anantapur district, visited Ravindra’s ghat at Venkatapuram village in Ramagiri mandal and paid floral tributes to his grave.

“Ravindra had sincerely striven for ensuring good governance and also the  development of the TDP. If people in remote areas were able to recognise the party it was only because of the efforts put on by Ravindra and his followers”, he said and added that no one could replace him. Stating that the fresh probe into Ravindra’s murder would begin soon, the minister added that a Cabinet meeting would be convened soon to seek the opinions of the ministers.

Later, inaugurating a new police station at Ramagiri, he said that in the last 10 years the law and order was not maintained properly in the then undivided state of AP causing much inconvenience to the common man. “But the present government is very serious about providing a good and peaceful life to the people. Measures will be initiated to curb the increasing crime rate,” he maintained.  He said that monitoring cell would be set up soon as part of the measures to be undertaken to provide high security for women. Similarly, a special task force would be constituted to the menace of red sanders smuggling, he added.

Information and Public Relations minister P Raghunath Reddy, Civil Supplies Minister P Sunitha and District superintendent of police SV Rajasekhara Babu were also present at the news conference.
