KAKINADA: An amount of Rs 5.61 crore was sanctioned for the construction of various buildings of the panchayat raj department in the district under the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Sashaktikaran Abhiyan Programme (RGPSA).
In the first phase Rs 12 lakh each was sanctioned for the construction of 24 panchayat office buildings, Rs 3 lakh each for 48 panchayat office buildings, for repairs and Rs 10 lakh each sanctioned for the construction of mandal resource buildings in the district.
Zilla Parishad chairman Namana Rambabu has said that all the construction works should be completed by March 2015. Zilla Parishad chief executive officer K Padma and others were present.
