I Will Empower Weaker Sections, Says Manda

For ensuring justice to the weaker sections and achieve a truly socialist society by empowering them and making them a part of governance was the primary motive of launching a new political outfit, said Manda Krishna Madiga, explaining the reason for launching his Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP).

For ensuring justice to the weaker sections and achieve a truly socialist society by empowering them and making them a part of governance was the primary motive of launching a new political outfit, said Manda Krishna Madiga, explaining the reason for launching his Mahajana Socialist Party (MSP).

Participating in the ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised jointly by the Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TWJF) and Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HCJ), here on Saturday, Manda Krishna Madiga said he had floated MSP on January 4. ‘’Perhaps our party is the youngest party to enter the poll fray, and we intend to contest elections for both Assembly and Parliament in a limited seats,’’ he explained.

MRPS chief, now MSP founder president said he founded the party because every other party which for long had promised justice to us have failed to keep up their promises. ‘’We decided that only by having political power, we can achieve real justice to the poor and weaker sections, he said.

Explaining the differences between other parties and the MSP, he said that he unlike NTR, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan or Jagan Mohan Reddy, does not belong to rich family. ‘’I have come from a poor worker’s family, peddled rickshaw, worked as daily wage earner. I know the pangs of hunger, insults and pain of being discriminated on caste lines. Because we know poverty, we understand the poor and can better voice their anguish in the law-making bodies and make a difference,’’ he said.

Krishna Madiga said that his party’s agenda is an admixture of naxalites and Ambedkar’s ideology, where it was stressed on achieving socio-economic and political justice for Dalits and other oppressed sections of the society. ‘’For years we have been asking for SC classification, though Congress had mentioned in its 2004 manifesto, but it is yet to materialise. Similarly several promises made in the manifestos have proved empty. Hence there will be no manifesto for our party. Solving people’s problems will be our only manifesto,’’ he said.

The MSP chief claimed that it was his agitation for proper medicare for the poor, that had inspired YS Rajasekhara Reddy to launch Arogyasri. ‘’If we come to power, we will see that Arogyasri is implemented completely with no limit for medical expenditure.’’

Stating that any political party will be ready to give him party ticket to contest now, Krishna Madiga said that if he accepts, he will be one among many following the dikats of the party chief. ‘’I cannot raise my voice on the issues I want, hence I choose to float a political party.  I decided to contest from Wardannapeta Assembly constituency in Warangal district,’’ he said.
