VISAKHAPATNAM: Spiritualist and Vedic scholar Chaganti Koteswara Rao will be presented with the Visishta Puraskaram and felicitated by US-based Ramineni Foundation in Visakhapatnam on October 12. This year being the 16th segment of the annual award, instituted by the Ramineni Foundation, was named after noted academician and realtor Ramineni Ayyanna Chowdhary in 1999.
Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana, renowned novelist Ampashayya Naveen, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University director and writer C Mrunalini will also be felicitated with the Visesha Puraskaram during the ceremony. The awardees are being felicitated for their contributions to the Telugu art, literature and culture.
HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao told mediapersons here Monday that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had been invited to present the awards at the function. “The Ramineni Foundation has been organising the award functions to honour the stalwarts of Telugu art and culture from different parts of the world,” the minister said by promising to render all possible help to the Foundation in its future endeavours. Among the previous recipients of Visishta Puraskarams include LV Prasad Eye Institute founder GN Rao, MV Foundation secretary Shantha Sinha, paediatric surgeon Yarlagadda Nayudamma and dance guru Nataraja Ramakrishna. Similarly, the Visesha Puraskarams were presented to eminent personalities like CCMB former director Lalji Singh, director-writer duo Bapu-Ramana, writers Kalipatnam Rama Rao, Kaloji Narayana Rao, Volga, Navodaya Publications founder Ramamohana Rao.
