TIRUMALA: Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC), the electronic publicity arm of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), is set to undergo a makeover soon and introduce four new programmes--Tirumala Yatra, Tirumala Bhakthi, Annamayya Pata -Parichayam and Sadacharam--as suggested by TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao, joint executive officer (Tirupati) Pola Bhaskar told Express here on Monday.
The JEO said the SVBC authorities had been apprised of the concepts of the four programmes and added that three review meetings had been held with all concerned so that the programmes could be telecast at the earliest.
He explained that Tirumala Yatra would detail the facilities available for pilgrims at Tirumala, including the advance and online bookings for accommodation, the different types sevalu at the temple, the significance of traditions and customs followed at the temple and the meaning of practices like tonsuring head etc.
As for Tirumala Bhakthi, the JEO said it would be an extension of the present Nada Neerajanam and Kala Neerajanam programmes and would feature traditional and folk artistes offering prayers to Lord Vishnu, Lord Venkateswara, Lord Siva, Lord Ayyappa, Goddess Durga etc through dance and song.
Bhaskar said Annamayya Pata - Parichayam would focus on the compositions of Annamacharya. In this programme, while well-known musicians would render Annamayya Keertanas, experts would simultaneously narrate their meaning.
He explained that Sadacharam would be a 45-minute, once-a-fortnight programme and meant to create awareness on a relevant issue among students, especially those studying in the TTD-run institutions.
