VISAKHAPATNAM: One person was killed and another injured when a jeep fell into a gorge at Manduvanam village in G Madugula mandal of the district Friday. The deceased was identified as B Ganesh (21), a farmer and a resident of Goithula village in G Madugula mandal. G Madugula circle inspector PSD Sekhar said that the jeep driver was trying to avoid hitting an oncoming bus when he lost control over the vehicle, leading to it falling into a gorge nearby before turning upside down. Ganesh, who was sitting beside the driver, and his co-passenger sustained severe head injuries. The emergency services rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to nearby hospital where Ganesh succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. The police registered a case and are investigating.
