TDP MLA Files Harassment Case Against Husband

VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam Party Payakaraopeta MLA V Anitha lodged a complaint against her husband K Sivaprasad with Three Town police station in the city Saturday. Anitha mentioned in the complaint that her husband had been harassing her. She alleged that Sivaprasad tried to take some important documents from her house when she was not at home and the incident was informed to the MLA by one of her assistants who was at home when her husband came looking for the documents.

Upon receiving the information, she rushed back and stopped Prasad from taking the documents. Leaving the documents, Prasad tried to take away their eight-year-old boy and six-year-old daughter.

Anitha and Sivaprasad fell in love and got married about 13 years ago. They belong to different communities and there were some family disputes as well. However, with the marital ties turning sour, Anitha served a divorce notice on Sivaprasad and a case is also pending in the court. Anitha moved out of her husband’s house located at Pandurangapuram to a new house in China Waltair and both are leading lives separately.

The police registered a case against the accused under the Sections of 448, 506,380 and 511 of IPC. According to sources, the accused was taken into custody, however, the arrest of the accused was not confirmed.
