Ravela Seeks Public Help for His Segment

GUNTUR:Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu has sought the help of NRIs, industrialists, intellectuals and educationists for the all-round development of his Prathipadu constituency.

Making this appeal at a meeting with eminent persons, under the ‘My Constituency - My Responsibility’ programme, here on Tuesday, the minister apprised the participants of the ongoing developmental works in the constituency through a power-point presentation. He then urged the NRIs and other eminent persons, who were born in Prathipadu constituency and were now holding high positions in various fields elsewhere, to extend their support for the further development of the constituency.

Stating that the government had sanctioned Rs 1,000 cr for taking up several developmental works in all the five mandals of the Prathipadu constituency, he stressed the need for the public participation in the drive for the all-round development of the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, ZP Chairperson Johny Moon, who is representing Kakumanu ZPTC, which comes under Prathipadu constituency, assured the minister of necessary support by the ZP. Stating that there was an exclusive cell for the NRIs in the ZP, she said that the ZP would release matching funds in tune with the donations made by the NRIs for taking up developmental works in the district on a 50:50 ratio.

While urging the minister to get the Guntur-Prathipadu road into a four-lane road and get an ITI set up in the constituency, Tulasi Seeds Chairman Ramachandra Babu announced that he would adopt the Yetukuru village.
