VIJAYAWADA:  Anam Brothers - Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Anam Vivekananda Reddy along with their followers formally joined Telugu Desam Party in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in Vijayawada, on Sunday.

Former Congress leaders, who play an important role in Nellore politics, along with their 2000 followers joined TDP during a public meeting organised at A1 Convention Centre in Vijayawada city.

Both the brothers had described Chandrababu Naidu as dynamic leader, who has best interests of the state at heart and only person, who can bail the state out of the crisis it found itself in after state bifurcation.  On the occasion, they vowed to work for strengthening the party in Nellore district and ensure that yellow flag of the ruling party flied high in all the 10 assembly constituencies after 2019 general elections as against only three today.

“We are on mission 2019 and in the next three years, we will strengthen the party from grass root level and see to it that the party is strong at every level. We joined the party believing the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu and under his guidance, we will ensure development of Nellore and the region,” Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said.  He said they were ready to work under leadership of Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy in the district and the latter should not have any doubts over their cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said he wholeheartedly welcomed Anam brothers into the party and opined that it would help in strengthening the party, particularly in Nellore district.  He said he was very much focused on the development of all 13 districts including Nellore.

He said to make the state drought free, they embarked upon interlinking of rivers and through Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project they interlinked two mighty rivers Krishna and Godavari, so the Rayalaseema can benefit from it along with two deltas in the state. He said they are also very much focused on interlinking of Krishna and Penna in the coming days.

Chandrababu Naidu hit out at Congress party and held it responsible for the state bifurcation that had created an ungainly situation in the state today. “It was ‘their’ self-vested interests that had led to the situation today. In spite of several problems, our government is making every effort to see progress and development in the state. Our goal is to develop the state as a force to reckon with in every sphere of activity. Our efforts have ensured nearly Rs. 6 lakh crore investment, that would create 10 lakh jobs. Every effort is being made for equal opportunities for all,” he said.
