HYDERABAD: After the spar over division of assets, the sister states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are heading for another confrontation over division of artifacts.
AP is planning to register a complaint with the Centre against the non-cooperative attitude of the TS government on the division of movable and immovable properties of State museum situated at Hyderabad Public Gardens.
As per AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, all the assets of departments and institutions coming under Schedule IX and X has to be divided between the two states in the ratio of 58:42 (AP 58:TS 42), but Telangana government is claiming that the institutions located in their State belongs to them and is not sharing info about the assets and its value.
The officials at AP Archaeology and Museum department, which is trying hard to get its due share from the State Museum, allege that despite repeated request the TS government is not responding to a plea to constitute a committee for the distribution of artifacts.
Both the governments had agreed to constitute an eight-member committee (four from AP and four from TS) for the distribution of artifacts and assets and also to resolve contentious issues. Though AP nominated four members, including AP Planning Commission deputy chairman C Kutumba Rao early this year, TS is yet to nominate members, due to which the entire process is being delayed.
According to sources, the AP officials have warned their TS counterparts that if they do not constitute the committee at the earliest they would take up the matter with the Centre.
