Endowments officials rapped over Krishna Pushkaram works

GUNTUR: District collector and joint collector reprimanded the endowments officials for the lackadaisical approach to the Krishna Pushkaram-related temple beautification works. Collector Kantilal Dande directed the endowments officials to come up with a comprehensive plan. He wanted them to expedite the Pushkaram works.

Earlier, Joint Collector Ch Sridhar was angry at the absence of the executive officer of Amaravathi temple at the review meeting. When he was told that works to a tune of Rs 50 lakh only were being taken up at the ancient Amaralingeswara Swamy temple at Amaravathi, he said Pushkaram was an opportunity that comes but once in 12 years to develop the temple and said it was unfortunate that the endowments department has failed to make use of the opportunity. He said a lot can be down to provide improved facilities at the temple.
