Dinesh Kumar takes charge as Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary

Dinesh Kumar took over as the new Chief Secretary of the State government at 3.33 pm on Friday from his predecessor Ajay Kallam. He will be in service till September 2018.

VIJAYAWADA: Dinesh Kumar took over as the new Chief Secretary of the State government at 3.33 pm on Friday from his predecessor Ajay Kallam. He will be in service till September 2018.

After assuming charge as the Chief Secretary, Dinesh Kumar met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The new CS has promised to make all out efforts to implement the vision of the Chief Minister in achieving inclusive growth and development of backward regions and improving the living standards of weaker sections. “It is my privilege to work as the Chief Secretary of the State as it struggles to realise its dream projects of Polavaram and world class capital Amaravati,” he said. 

Several senior bureaucrats congratulated Dinesh Kumar on his elevation as Chief Secretary. Dinesh Kumar joined Indian Administrative Service in 1983. Earlier, he worked in the combined AP State services and held key positions like District Collector of Anantapur and Adilabad, Additional Commissioner of  Revenue, Commissioner of Social Welfare, Joint Managing Director of APTransco, Secretary of Irrigation, Chairman and Managing Director of APCPDCL, Commissioner of Disaster Management, Principal Secretary of Energy and Finance and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. He also served in the Central Services in the rank of Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary in Textiles, Water Resources Development and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Polavaram Authority. 

Prior to assuming charge as the Chief Secretary, he worked as Special Chief Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development.
