Baby boy stolen at Tirumala temple

The couple, hailing from Uravakonda of Andhra Pradesh, woke up at 6.30 a.m. Wednesday, and found their baby missing.

TIRUPATI: A one-year-old baby was stolen from his parents at the Venkateswara temple in Tirumala in the early hours of Wednesday. Police said the boy was taken away from his parents, K Venkatesh and Ratnamma , while they were sleeping in the Golla Mantapam in front of the temple.

The couple, hailing from Uravakonda in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, woke up at 6.30 a.m. Wednesday, and found their baby missing. In panick, they searched the neighbourhood and rushed to the police for help.

Police examined the CCTV footage, which showed a couple taking away the boy. The footage and photos of the suspected child-snatchers has been released.

Police have registered a case and are looking for the suspect couple.
