Now, Govinda App to make Tirumala pilgrimage easier for devotees

TIRUMALA: A new TTD application ‘Govinda' will help you to book your pilgrimage much easier than ever before. The new app has been developed in collaboration with TCS, who stayed in Tirupati and helped TTD in upgrading various applications and softwares for the last two years.

As part of this, TCS has developed the app which was launched in front of the main temple after Ugadi festival inside the sanctum sanctorum. Trust Board member Sudha Murthy and Executive Officer Dr. D Sambasiva Rao along with other staff were present.

Named as "Govinda Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams", the app provides the mobile savvy devotees all the facilities to avail darshan, accommodation, e-Hundi, e-Donation facilities with just a click of a button.  TCS is trying to provide the best possible services to TTD in turn to serve its pilgrims with more transparency and speed. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store.

"Our intention is to provide all the amenities to pilgrims in a hassle-free manner. Our IT wing along with TCS have brought significant changes in our most ambitious "Digital Tirumala" online booking system in the last one year and we are still finding out the best IT solutions. This mobile app facilitates the pilgrims to book darshan, accommodation and donate with just a click of a button. The pilgrims can use this app through our official website as well," said the TTD EO during its launch.

Adding further, the EO said that so far 1.33 crore people availed Rs 300 special darshan through online and every day over 2,000 rooms are allotted for online booking of the devotees. "Similarly, we want to further improve IT services for transparency," he maintained.

TTD Trust Board member Sudha Murthy said that it is a technology-based pilgrim initiative and TTD is utilising the IT services to provide hassle-free darshan to devotees.
