Guntur secures top position in passport verification

According to the available information, Guntur Urban police completed verification of 15,768 applications for passports in 2017, 14,673 in 2016 and 15,593 in 2015.

GUNTUR: For the second consecutive year, Guntur urban district has secured top position in passport verification in the State.  

According to the available information, Guntur Urban police completed verification of 15,768 applications for passports in 2017, 14,673 in 2016 and 15,593 in 2015. As many as 8,931 applications were verified till June this year.

With the launch of Passport Seva Kendra in Guntur in 2012, the officials started issuing identification cards online.  Even the Guntur Urban police started depending heavily on the internet to send reports related to inquiries for passport verification to the officials concerned.

Though the duration for the entire verification procedure is  21 days, the police claimed to have been clearing the inquiries in three days’ time.

Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police CH Vijaya Rao appealed to the passport applicants to provide the Passport Seva Kendra authorities with authentic information while filling applications, which will make the inquiry procedure easy and quick.
