GUNTUR: The Bapatla police have made extensive security arrangements for the Kathika Pournami celebrations at Suryalanka and Vodarevu beaches. Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi stated that more than 400 police personnel have been deployed along the coastline to ensure the safety of visitors and prevent traffic disruptions.

As lakhs of pilgrims are expected to visit for the holy dip, the SP directed officials to set up sectors every 50 metres along the coast, with a police officer and diver present at each sector. He emphasised the need for the provision of ropes and life jackets and instructed the police to patrol the coastline with boats up to a certain distance into the sea, preventing pilgrims from venturing too deep.

SP Dudi also instructed the installation of CCTV cameras and coordination with the command control room to ensure smooth operations and provide necessary assistance to pilgrims, while taking all measures to prevent untoward incidents. Announcements regarding water safety precautions will also be made throughout the area.
