VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed district collectors to adopt a humanitarian approach to enhance people’s satisfaction levels.
He emphasized giving more preference to field visits to understand ground realities rather than relying solely on office files.
Addressing the fourth collectors’ conference at the State Secretariat on Monday, Naidu said district collectors play a pivotal role in implementing public policies and welfare schemes, and they must demonstrate their effectiveness through performance. He urged collectors to set new administrative benchmarks.
The Chief Minister stressed that meeting people’s expectations and aspirations through improved performance is a collective responsibility of elected leaders and district collectors. “Complacency is not an option,” he said, advising collectors to strive to deliver public policies to the last mile. Naidu suggested collectors leverage technology while prioritizing field visits to grasp realities on the ground.
He highlighted the government’s achievements, including the highest satisfaction levels in pension distribution. The recently introduced Stree Sakthi - free travel facility for women in RTC services - is a significant success, he said, paving the way for women’s economic upliftment.
“This free travel facility is set to transform women’s energy levels and economic activity,” Naidu remarked.
Strategies to increase State’s growth rate to 15% unveiled
The Chief Minister opined that harnessing women’s power is crucial and that full-fledged women’s empowerment would drive growth and development. He said the state government balances development and welfare through revenue generation, introducing the P-4 programme to bridge gaps between haves and have-nots.
Naidu noted the previous government’s revenue system destruction and stated the coalition government’s efforts to rectify lapses, establishing systems to prevent land registration tampering. Collectors were asked to focus on human resource development, Swachh Andhra Pradesh, and the circular economy, prioritizing a healthy, wealthy, and happy state with ease of living.
He mentioned the state’s 10.5% growth rate, with plans to increase it to 15%. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh developed the Swarnandhra vision 2047, aligning with the Government of India’s Vikasit Bharat 2047. “Consider the vision document as Bhagavadgita, Bible, and Quran,” he told collectors, urging committed work towards development. Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad, Finance Minister P Keshav, and Chief Secretary K Vijayanand addressed the collectors.
