VIJAYAWADA: Stating that the Union government will bring an Act recognising Amaravati as the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the party rank and file to take the message to the people extensively.
Blaming the previous YSRCP government for proposing the three capitals theory and neglecting the development of Amaravati, he said that bringing an Act on the capital city will enhance investment opportunities.
Addressing a teleconference with TDP MPs, MLAs, in-charges and activists on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said Amaravati would have been developed as a model city if the TDP had come to power in 2019.
Underscoring the need to counter what he termed unnecessary criticism by the YSRCP against Amaravati, he said the capital city is being developed with lands given by farmers.
Highlighting various welfare and development programmes being implemented by the coalition government, the Chief Minister asked party leaders and activists to actively take part in the distribution of social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa scheme.
The Chief Minister said the false propaganda being spread by YSRCP should be countered at every level.
“They are spreading misinformation and resorting to unethical practices. People should remain cautious of such individuals with criminal backgrounds,” he added.
