VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh is set to establish a premier Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) with an investment of Rs 100 crore in Nadimpalem, Prathipadu mandal near Guntur, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced on Tuesday.
A high-level official team from the Union Ministry of AYUSH inspected and approved the proposed 15.03-acre site on Tuesday.
The state government will complete land development, access roads, and drainage infrastructure within three months before handing over the parcel to the Centre for construction. The institute, equipped with a 100-bed hospital, is scheduled to commence full operations by 2028.
Established under the aegis of the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), an autonomous body under the Union AYUSH Ministry, the CRIYN will serve as an apex institution for evidence-based scientific research, clinical trials, practitioner training, and patient care in alternative medicine.
“The core mandate of this central institute is to conduct rigorous scientific research on Yoga and Naturopathy protocols, establish clinical efficacy, train doctors and researchers, and deliver modern holistic healthcare to the public,” Satya Kumar Yadav stated.
The project blueprint features an integrated 100-bed Yoga and Naturopathy hospital on campus to treat lifestyle disorders and chronic illnesses through drugless therapies.
The campus will house state-of-the-art research laboratories, specialised clinical therapy blocks, academic training centers, and staff quarters—bringing research, patient care, and professional training under one roof.
The joint inspection team comprised Guntur District Collector CM Saikanth Varma, State AYUSH Director Gopalakrishna Ronanki, CCRYN Director Dr Jyoti Keswani, Union AYUSH Senior Project Manager Pramod Varma, and Research Officer Dr NV Gnanadeep Thatavarthi.
