

VIJAYAWADA: In a major push toward high-tech industrialisation and digital infrastructure, the State government has approved two major investment projects totalling over Rs 31,800 crore across Visakhapatnam and YSR Kadapa districts.
Together, the State has sanctioned a 512 MW green artificial intelligence (AI) data centre facility and a large-scale electronics manufacturing unit, which are projected to generate 8,000 jobs. Under G.O. Ms. No.59 issued by the IT, E&C Department, the State approved a proposal by M/s. AM AI Factory (Vizag) Private Limited to establish a 512 MW Green Integrated AI Data Centre Facility at Amanam village in Bheemunipatnam mandal, Visakhapatnam district.
Carrying a cumulative investment of Rs 31,387 crore and an employment potential of 1,000 jobs, the project has been categorised as a Mega Project under the Andhra Pradesh Data Centre Policy (4.0) 2024–29, with a completion timeline of two years and four months.
To support the massive facility, the government approved tailored non-fiscal and fiscal incentives.
Non-fiscal support includes power infrastructure facilitation by APTRANSCO at the proponent’s cost, guaranteed treated water supply, road connectivity via APIIC, and the realignment of an existing stream (vagu) and road passing through project survey numbers.
The fiscal package for the AI data centre features a stamp duty exemption capped at Rs 16 crore, a 10% capital subsidy on plant and machinery capped at Rs 300 crore over 10 years, and 100% net SGST reimbursement during construction capped at Rs 490 crore.
Additionally, the State extended 20-year exemptions on transmission and wheeling charges (capped at Rs 1,250 crore), cross-subsidy surcharges (capped at Rs 3,000 crore), and electricity duty (capped at Rs 90 crore), along with a 30% discount on OPGW fibre access charges.
In a separate order (G.O.Ms. No. 58), the State sanctioned the allotment of 21.75 acres of land alongside Shed No. 12 at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Kopparthy, Kadapa district, to AIL Dixon Technologies Private Limited.
