VIJAYAWADA: The common recruitment examination for 629 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) posts across State power utilities in Andhra Pradesh commenced on Sunday under tight security arrangements.
On the first day of the five-day Computer-Based Test (CBT) schedule, 12,301 candidates out of 16,183 registered applicants appeared for the Civil Engineering paper.
APTRANSCO Joint Managing Director Surya Sai Praveen Chand, IAS, stated that the test is being conducted across 94 centres—81 in Andhra Pradesh and 13 in neighbouring states—to accommodate a total of 1,05,566 applicants for positions in APTRANSCO, APGENCO, APEPDCL, APSPDCL, and APCPDCL.
Strict anti-malpractice protocols have been deployed, including biometric thumbprint verification, photo capture, frisking, continuous CCTV surveillance, and encrypted question paper delivery, with mobile jammers set up in coordination with BEL to prevent digital leakage. Test centres have been equipped with dedicated power supplies, generator sets, UPS backups and spare workstations.
