VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari after the Centre approved the 1,107-km Kharagpur–Amaravati Greenfield Corridor. In a post on X, Naidu said 457 km of the four-lane highway will pass through Andhra Pradesh with an estimated outlay of Rs 32,000 crore.
He noted the corridor will directly connect Andhra Pradesh with eastern India, reduce logistics costs for farmers and industry, and accelerate Amaravati’s growth as a regional economic hub.
The proposed corridor will traverse West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, passing through Araku Valley, Paderu, Chintapalli and Jangareddygudem before terminating at Amaravati. Naidu said the project would unlock opportunities for industry, agriculture, trade and employment across the State.
