VIJAYAWADA: Global wind energy leader Suzlon Group is set to launch major new wind power projects in Andhra Pradesh, backed by a `10,000 crore investment in the Rayadurgam constituency of Anantapur district.
HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh will officially inaugurate Suzlon’s new S144 rotor blade manufacturing lines at Hulikera village in Kanekal mandal on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
As part of the overall Rs 10,000 crore project located in Govindawada of Rayadurgam constituency, the 1,325 MW capacity wind energy initiative is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for 4,000 people.
Suzlon is currently the largest wind energy partner in Andhra Pradesh, with an installed capacity exceeding 1,700 MW. Strategically aligning with the state’s green energy goals, the group has outlined comprehensive plans to establish an additional 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects across Andhra Pradesh by 2030.
Having initiated its state operations in 2004, Suzlon maintains a strong industrial footprint in Anantapur.
It operates a state-of-the-art rotor blade manufacturing unit at Ippuru in Kudair mandal under the Uravakonda constituency, executing major wind initiatives alongside power majors such as Tata Power.
The Anantapur manufacturing ecosystem accounts for 40 per cent of Suzlon’s total global blade production—with an annual output capacity of 1,260 MW—and has drawn over Rs 12,000 crore in cumulative investments while providing jobs to 2,200 local youth.
The group serves a client roster of more than 70 major corporate entities, including Tata Power, Waaree Forever Energies and others. Beyond power generation, Suzlon and the Government of Andhra Pradesh are jointly running one of India’s largest green skill development initiatives.
Through world-class wind energy learning centres established in Uravakonda and Vijayawada, the initiative is training 12,000 young professionals, with women comprising 25 per cent of the trainees.
As the first Indian company to cross the milestone of 20 GW in global wind installations, Suzlon commands over 33 per cent of the domestic market share in the country.
