SRIKAKULAM: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, along with Minister Atchannaidu and MLA Gondu Shankar, on Friday laid the foundation for 1,200 kilo litre capacity water tank under the Amrit 2.0 scheme with an investment of Rs 25.34 crore at Peddapadu in Srikakulam Rural Mandal.

Later, they inaugurated additional classrooms and dormitory buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 2.12 crore at Singupuram KGBV School, and dormitory rooms built at a cost of Rs 2.55 crore at Salihundam KGBV School at Gara Mandal in Srikakulam district. Later, they distributed revenue pattas in Mogadalapadu village.

The Union Minister assured that the problems faced by fishermen and farmers would be resolved step by step and promised to develop Mogadalapadu’s coastal area into a tourist destination, with facilities such as a beach road, solar lighting, resorts for tourists and a ground for local needs.

Ram Mohan also stressed the need to utilise coastal resources to provide local employment opportunities for fishermen youth.

He mentioned efforts to establish industries in the region and urged people to cooperate with new enterprises and make use of the opportunities that would arise. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Chandrababu Naidu, and Dy CM Pawan Kalyan were paying attention to the development of the State and district.

Later, Atchannaidu questioned whether YSRCP has the courage to explain why it reduced BC (Backward Classes) reservations from 34% to 24%, thereby depriving nearly 17,000 people of representation in local bodies.
