GULBARGA: Demanding the Union government to give special status to the Hyderabad-Karnataka region by amending Article 371 of the Constitution, more than 300 activists of Kannada Sene, under the leadership of state president KR Kumar and north Karnataka region president Shivasharanappa Khanadal staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi urging them to accord special status to the region. A Railway division in Gulbarga was also among their demands.
