HAVERI: Kannada scholar and researcher Bhojraj Pat i l claimed that Abaluru village of Hirekerur taluk is the birth place of saint poet Sarvajna, and not Masur as argued by some literary personalities.
The Mysore State Gazetteer of Dharwad District (Revised Edition-edited by Dr JF Fleet-page No 761) clearly mentions this, he said. This should dismiss all controversies.
Patil also said that Sarvajna lived in a house near Someshwara temple in Abaluru and wrote many of his triplets in and around the temple.
