

MYSORE: An engineer-turned-painter. His first expo at Suchitra Art Gallery in the town is drawing the artists and art connoisseurs. D N Yashaswi Ram, who is displaying his 22 collections of black and white paintings, is getting accolades and appreciation from all quarters.
His paintings in black and white, bring out scores of emotions - happiness, sorrow, war, mother’s love, spirituality and what not. Interestingly, Ram has no basic training in painting and is not guided by any teacher. “My intuition and interest are my best guides,” he confesses.A Mysorean, Yashaswi moved to Bangalore to pursue his engineering course in electronics and communication. Even as he completed engineering from Acharya Pathashala engineering college, his interest shifted for pencil and paper.
Initially, it was tough. He started sketching whatever found interesting. “It took 20-30 days to complete a single work. Today, I do it in 2-3 days,” he told Express. He is now selected as an animator in a reputed animation company in Bangalore after doing a training in 2D and 3D animation course. His works will be on display at Kalamandir till January 4. Dean of Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts, Deshpande inaugurated his show on Thursday.
