

RAICHUR: Several helping hands have been extended for Raichur, the district worst affected by rains and the fury of the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers.
"Victims are getting help from everywhere irrespective of region, language, caste or creed. People of Rangareddy district in Andhra had come with food grains, clothes and utensils to Nadugadde Malkapur, one of the worst affected villages of the district," says Deputy Commissioner Adoni Syed Saleem.
Long caravans loaded with relief materials, including chapatis, food grains, clothes, blankets can be frequently seen asking for directions to Bichali, Talmari and other floodaffected villages.
RSS and Bharat Vikas Parishat activists are staying in the affected villages to serve fresh food. Lions Club is coordinating with NGOs in the relief operations.
College students have hit the main streets to collect funds. Rice Millers Association members are camping at Chikmanchali to distribute food grains, sarees, lungis, towels and textbooks.
