

BANGALORE: Here is a good news for late Vishnuvardhan's fans. Vibha Charitable Trust plans to organise Simhavalokana, a three-day film festival from September 17 to 19 to mark the star's 60th birth anniversary.
As part of the programme, Vishnuvardhan's famous films such as Nagara Haavu, Malaya Marutha, Suprabhata, Veerappa Nayaka will be screened on September 17. Bandhana, Simhadriya Simha, Diggajaru and Karna will be screened on September 18. Yajamana, Muthina Haara, Bangarada Jinke and Laali will be screened on September 19. All these films had not only brought name and fame for Vishnuvardhan but also became a huge success at the box office.
Bharati Vishnuvardhan said that these films will be screened at the Inox, Garuda Mall. It is believed that actor Vijay has come forward to let Kapali theatre to screen Vishnuvardhan's films as a tribute to the great actor. Vijay's latest film Kari Chirute will be screened at Kapali theatre from Friday.
A function will be held at Abhiman Studios where Vishnuvardhan's samadhi exists. Thousands of fans are expected to pay tribute to their favourite hero on the occasion. Many people have decided to donate blood, pledge eyes and organise mass feeding programme on the occasion.
Journalist Nandakumar is set to release his book Nanna Haadu Nannadu' on the occasion. Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha and many artistes from Telugu, Tamil and Kannada film industries are expected to attend the function.
Dr Vishnuvardhan's fans want the state government to commence the construction work of Dr Vishnuvardhan's memorial at Abhiman Studios. It is learnt that a blue print of the memorial was already submitted to the state government.
