BANGALORE: The State government said that it is reconsidering the withdrawal of denotifying land acquired by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) in 1979 for creating Nandini Layout extension - Jarakabandekaval village.

Hearing a PIL filled by Congress MLA N L  Narendra Babu on Thursday, a Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice A S Bopanna directed the government to make its stand clear on the issue.

The court also ordered that status-quo be maintained on the denotification of one acre of land in Nandini Layout, until further orders. The petitioner alleged that various authorities, including CM, had, on October 19, 2009, granted approval to drop the acquisition to benefit an applicant.

The court adjourned further hearing on the PIL by four weeks.
