BELGAUM: Sri Ram Sena supremo Pramod Mutalik has welcomed Justice B K Somasekhara Commission report in which it has given clean chit to the Sena in connection with the church attacks.

Mutalik told Express on Friday that the report has proved that the Sena was innocent.

He said there were some people who passed the buck on the Sena and Hindu fora when any church or mosque was attacked.

Mutalik said the report was a fitting reply to those who cast a slur on Hindu organisations.

The Sena demands a stop to all types of propaganda against Hindu organisations, he said.

Mutalik said Christian organisations should stop religious conversion in the name of social service, education and health. He said the report exposed the real face of the so called ‘service oriented organisations.’ Mutalik condemned the government’s attitude in fixing Hindu organisations whenever there are attacks on Christians or Muslims.

Vilas Pawar, state secretary of the Sena, also denied any role of the Sena in the church attacks of 2008, adding that that the investigation conducted by Justice B K Somasekhara was fair.

Even after Mahendra Kumar, convener of Bajrang Dal, owned responsibility for the attacks, allegations did not stop following Sena, RSS and VHP, he said.
