MYSORE: Minster for Medical Education Minister S A Ramadas announced on Monday that he would provide free higher education to two children through his Aasare Foundation.
Ramadas took the decision when he was overwhelmed by the questioned posed to him by the two boys — R Sachin and S Madesh — during the valedictory of the five-day Children Dasara Festival.
The minister had asked for feedback from the kids about the event when the duo entered the dais. “The programme is good but the manner in which the message is conveyed to children is not impressive; many were unable to understand anything,” said Madesh.
For the next 20 minutes, the minister interacted with children, when the kids asked him a pertinent question, “Why have politicians failed to improve the living standards of people?” “Today’s children are tomorrow’s future. But many settle abroad, which affects our country,” he said.
