BANGALORE: Forensic reports have confirmed that the intimate video of Swami Nithyananda is not morphed and the woman in the visuals is Tamil actress Ranjitha.

An official in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) disclosed this to Express on condition of anonymity. The official said the CID had sent the video's CD to the renowned Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) in Hyderabad and Chandigarh. The FSLs confirmed that the CD was genuine. Then the CID sent the photographs of Nithyananda and Ranjitha to the labs. The labs compared the photos and the faces in the video and concluded that the two people in the video are indeed the swami and the film actress.

The CID official said if anybody wanted to retest the CD in other reputed FSLs, the CID was willing to get it tested even in labs in foreign countries.

Ranjitha had recently asserted in a press conference that the CD was morphed and she was not the woman in the video. She had made the same claims when the CID had interrogated her on June 21, 2010. Then she had not accused Lenin, who leaked the video to the media, of molesting or attempt to rate. The CID is surprised why is she making such allegations now.

Contradictory statement

Also, Ranjitha had stated in the press conference that she was not in touch with Nithyananda after the video was leaked. However, contradicting the claim, sources said the swami had told the CID during interrogation that he had spoken to Ranjitha on phone from Hyderabad Airport. Ranjitha too had said during interrogation that she had got a call from Nithyananda on March 3, 2010. She had then told the CID that the swami had asked her not to speak to media about the CD.
